Centurion 2k polyurethane topcoat and sealer is the most versatile water based coating currently available today.

This 2K poly has excellent chemical, moisture, and UV resistance along with superior protection against scuffing. 

2k paint is designed for cabinets, furniture, hardwood floors, cabinetry, and millwork. This product is available in clear, white, and custom tinted colors from Benjamin Moore, Sherwin Williams, Behr, and more!

All colors tint with Centurion's recommended industrial colorants for the best possible performance and coverage. Custom colors are always accurately matched to a 0.5 Delta E or less. 

Paint manufacturer color swatches can vary. Ensure the color is accurate before proceeding with a full scale application.

Centurion is not currently manufacturing neutral tint bases in Semi-Gloss or Gloss. If you have a dark color, choose Flat or Satin. 

Technical sheen information:

Flat - 10-15 sheen (most popular among refinishers and new construction)

Satin - 30-35 sheen

Semi-Gloss - 50-55 sheen (Not recommended. This is a true semi-gloss. Only choose this sheen if you are looking for a very shiny appearance)

Gloss - 70-75 sheen

Features:

• Dries fast

• Excellent sandability

• Extreme durability (when catalyzed at 10% by weight)

• Can be mixed with CW-4002 Hardener at a maximum of 10% by weight. This will give you a 2 hour pot life. See below for recommended amounts by volume. Note CIC’s data sheets are currently incorrect and this is the most up to date information.

• Compatible with water based thickener to add hang and viscosity. Add 0.5 - 1 fl. oz per gallon and thoroughly drill mix for 3-4 minutes. Wait 1-24 hours for the viscosity to increase. Thickener should not be needed with dark colors, or if you’re using the recommended amount of hardener. Thickener is only recommended for brush/roll, airless, or AAA applications.

Recommended maximum catalyst amount by volume: 

White base colors: 14% by volume

Deep base colors (DBC): 12% by volume

Clear base colors (TB): 11% by volume

Clear: 11% by volume

Airless Tip Recommendation: TriTech fine finish 308 or 408 or Graco FF 308 or 408 — 208 or 210 tips are not recommended and will cause you to over-apply. Scroll down for more airless recommendations.

Spray application methods: conventional, airless, air assisted airless, HVLP, HVLP turbine. 

Brush/Roll: add 0.5-1 fl oz. of thickener and 2% 9001 retarder. Use a soft bristle nylon/polyester blend brush and a thin nap mohair, synthetic mohair, or microfiber roller. Do not overwork. If the product is drying too fast, add slightly more retarder. 

HVLP Turbine: (minimum 5 stage turbine with tinted colors - 4 stage for clear). For HVLP application a 1.8 or 2.0 needle is recommended. 5%+ reduction with medium retarder may be necessary.

Airless: 308 or 408 spray tip. Use a 3/16” x 25’ hose. Smaller or larger hoses can cause issues. Hose whips are not recommended. Use a coarse or medium mesh filter in your pump and in your gun. 50-100 mesh in the gun and 20-50 mesh in the pump is ideal.

Diaphragm pumps like the ED655 will shorten the pot life of catalyzed coatings. They are not recommended.

TB and DBC base colors are thicker than white base colors. More medium retarder may be necessary for these colors with HVLP. 3% medium retarder may be necessary for Graco Quickshot users. 

Recommended Primers: 

New wood: 1108 or 1111 (1K or 2K)

Refinish: 1111 (2K with 5% catalyst) or 1123 (1K) or 1107 (2K with 10% catalyst - where extreme moisture resistance and adhesion is needed.)

Clear: 2001 sanding sealer
