Novalk NCW99 ISO-Free Hardener is a next-generation, isocyanate-free catalyst designed for use in water-based and hybrid 1K/2K and 2K coatings.
NCW-99 catalyst is formulated with advanced polymeric carboxylic technology, this catalyst delivers superior performance and environmental benefits without compromising durability or chemical resistance.
Features:
- 12 hour pot life - product can be re-used up to 3 times. Add fresh product at a 1:1 ratio and reintroduce hardener at 5% by volume to restart the catalyzing process.
- Improves blocking in primers
- Enhanced catalytic performance: Promotes strong ionic and hydrogen bonding for improved film durability
- Excellent adhesion: Increases adhesion to polar substrates such as wood and MDF
- Reduces viscosity - catalyze first and then reduce if necessary
- Isocyanate and aziridine free
NCW-99 can be used at a rate of 5% by volume across all of the 1K/2K and 2K products, including:
917B - 1K/2K Tannin Blocking Primer
934/934B - 1K/2K Fast Drying Thixotropic Topcoat
932/932B - 1K/2K Thixotropic Topcoat
982 - 2K Anti-Scratch Interior Topcoat
Important Handling Note:
Once catalyzed, the NCW99 hardener will start to lose effectiveness after 12 hours and becomes completely inactive after 24 hours.
To reactivate material beyond that window, add fresh product at a 1:1 ratio and reintroduce hardener at 5% by volume to restart the catalyzing process.
This product cannot be shipped via any express service or in the air. It is ground only! If your order contains this catalyst, it will ship FedEx or UPS Ground!
Orders are shipped the same day Monday through Friday when ordered before 1:00PM EST.
Depending on order volume, custom colors may not ship when ordered before 1PM.

The following products are ground only: TWP deck stain, Arborcoat oil based stain, Simiron epoxy, all 5 gallon pails, tabletop epoxy, dry erase paints, airless paint sprayers, Benjamin Moore deck cleaning products, and all oil based gel/wiping stains.
All items are packed thoroughly to avoid damage.
In January and February, orders to certain areas with material that can freeze will include a large heat pack designed to provide heat for 3-4 days. This time of year delays can happen from UPS/FedEx that are out of our control.
